Nominations for the 2010 Australian Sports Commission (ASC) Media Awards are now open. Now in its ninth year, the ASC Media Awards recognise excellence in sports journalism and sports broadcasting, and are a great opportunity to have outstanding work rewarded.

The ASC Media Awards continue to attract high-quality entries from sport and sport affairs journalists, broadcasters and photographers. The Awards now also regularly attract non-sports media, such as news, current affairs and business media, which is recognition of the Awards' growing profile in the industry.

The ASC Media Awards are Australia's premier sports media awards and the only dedicated awards recognising sports journalism, broadcasting and photography.

Winners from the 2009 ASC Media Awards included Mike Hurst, The Daily Telegraph, Inside Sport, Roger Carter, Australian Story, ABC Television, Quinn Rooney and Getty Images. The coveted Lifetime Achievement Award for Contribution to Sports Journalism was won by Les Murray from SBS.

Winners will be announced at the presentation gala dinner at Doltone House (Pyrmont Point) in Sydney on Thursday 25 November 2010.

We encourage you to share the message of the Media Awards with your colleagues and we look forward to receiving your entries!
