Swimming instructors

Swim and Fitness at the AIS regularly requires self-motivated and outgoing staff with excellent customer service skills to teach swimming and aquatic safety to Swim School children.

Austswim qualification plus resuscitation ability are essential (Swim and Fitness at the AIS is able to assist you to gain these qualifications).

A variety of shifts are available, including after school and on weekends.

Work experience

The Australian Sports Commission offers work experience and clinical placements to postgraduate and undergraduate tertiary level students from Australia. We do not have a formal work experience program for secondary school students.

Active After-school Communities program

The Active After-school Communities program is a national initiative that provides primary school-aged children with access to free, structured physical activity programs after school.

AIS Sports Science Sports Medicine

Sports Science Sports Medicine is the AIS section responsible for all of the Institute service delivery departments, which are divided into: Clinical Services, Sports Sciences, Athlete and Career Education, Applied Research Centre, and the National Sport Science Quality Assurance Program.
