Matt Buck (Basketball, 1984–85) joined the South Australian Police in 1989 and in October will celebrate 20 years in the force. A detective brevet sergeant, Matt was recently awarded the National Medal and Police Service Medal. He lives in the south-eastern suburbs of Adelaide and is married with two children.

Chris Carroll was also in the Men’s Basketball program (1990–91). Chris is married with a two-year-old daughter. For the past four years he has lived in Amsterdam in The Netherlands, where he was director of marketing for a European media company. Chris recently returned to Melbourne and says he is looking forward to the next challenges in life.

John Pollock, who was a scholarship holder in the Road Cycling program in 1997, has settled in Gernika–Lumo in Bizkaia state in the Basque country in northern Spain, where he has lived for the past eight years. He and his Basque girlfriend have a nine-month-old son. John has his own IT company that specialises in web applications.

Anne Roberts (nee Watts) was in the Women’s Volleyball program in 1999 and 2000. She left Canberra and headed to Bozeman, Montana in the United States, where she had a full volleyball scholarship. After completing two years of college, Anne married and moved to Oregon, where she played for Oregon State University for two years. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree. After living in the United States for seven years, Anne returned to Australia, and lives in Melbourne with her husband and two young daughters Abby and Tora.
