Jenny Evans

Jenny Evans (nee Reisener) was an Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) Basketball scholarship holder from 1986 to 1987. She went on to play for the Cairns Dolphins in the Queensland Basketball League, but retired from netball in 2004, to concentrate on her family. She recently returned to the Dolphins, playing alongside her second daughter, Teyla, who has just been selected to play in the Australian under-17 squad. Current coach of the Dolphins, Val Nancarrow, also attended the AIS at the same time as Jenny.

John Gibson

John Gibson was an AIS football (soccer) player from 1987 to 1988. He returned to the AIS as a scholarship coach in the men’s football program from 2007 to 2008 and has held coaching positions with the Young Matildas and the Young Socceroos. As an athlete he competed at the Barcelona 1992 Olympic Games and played over 300 matches with the Olyroos, Australia’s national under-23 team. John is currently head coach of the Western Australian Institute of Sport women’s football program and the Perth Glory Women.

Matt Smith

Matt Smith was an AIS wrestler from 1996 to 1997, at the same time as his twin brother Sean was also in the program (1996–98). Matt has been enjoying working as a plumber and excavator in remote mining locations in Western Australia since 2007.

Graham and Brett Cash

Twin brothers Graham and 2000 Olympian Brett Cash were also members of the AIS wrestling program (1996–98 and 1996-2000, respectively). They are both now living in Brazil, married to Brazilians.
