Joseph Winter

Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers

Duties/Responsibilities:

  Provide leadership within the iRD team; coordinating communication with the national network; coordination of the ASC Research, Research to Action and Competitive Innovation funds processes and interfacing with NSWO and AIS high performance personnel including athletes, coaches and support teams.

Professional interests:

 

Use of GNSS technologies for high precision metrology applications, leadership, innovation processes and advanced manufacturing methods.

Personal interests:

 

Family, Robocup, software defined radios, cycling, telemark and skiing


Felicity Lemke

Position/Title:

 

Coordinator

Program/Area:   AIS Innovation, Research and Development (iRD)
 
 


Duties/Responsibilities:

 

Coordinate and deliver a range of administrative support to the head of iR&D and the other staff to ensure that iR&D runs smoothly and effectively, budgets, management of assets, create a supportive, efficient and enjoyable working environment for staff

Tim Kelly

Position/Title:

 

Manager, Research and Partnerships

Program/Area:   Innovation, Research and Development (iRD)

Educational Background:

 

Bachelor of Arts (English Literature, Communications and History), Grad Dip Teach (Secondary), Masters in Sociology of Sport, Grad Dip Law

Duties/Responsibilities:

  Manage and support innovation, research and development partnerships and stakeholder engagement with the AIS and for iRD

Professional interests:

 

Impact tracking in and R&D environment, the commercialisation of IP and the use of analytics in the sports industry

Personal interests:

 

My kids, keeping fit, waiting for the Lakers to win another Championship, waiting for the Raiders to make the top 6 and learning a bit of Mandarin each day


Helene Rushby

Position/Title:

 

Strategic Research Advisor

Program/Area:   AIS Innovation, Research and Development (iRD) 

Educational Background:

 

Bachelor of Human Movement Studies / Bachelor of Social Science Psychology

Duties/Responsibilities:

 

Coordination of the Research Grants Program including funding allocations and reporting.

Management of the AIS PhD Program including contract negotiations and scholarships

Management of the AIS Ethics Committee

Project Management

Coordination of the Graduate Research Skills Training Program

Sports Research Management, Project Management

Personal interests:

 

Netball, touch football, my family and keeping fit


Engineering

Matthew Crawford

Position/Title:

 

AIS Paralympic Engineer

Program/Area:   AIS Innovation, Research and Development (iRD)

Educational Background:

 

25 years working in Motorsport both in Australia and Europe

Duties/Responsibilities:

  My duties and responsibilities are spread predominately around Paralympic sports.  These include Wheelchair Tennis, Rugby, Basketball, Boccia, Para-Rowing, Sailing, Canoe, Cycling, Para-Tri and Track and Field

Professional interests:

 

Engineering and its relevance in Sport

Personal interests:

 

Family, food, movies, cycling and golf


Andrew Warr

Damian Carter

Position/Title:

 

AIS Innovation Engineer

Program/Area:   AIS Innovation, Research and Development (iRD) 

Educational Background:

 

Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical);  Doctor of Philosophy in Intelligent Acoustic Emission Techniques for health monitoring of steel bridges

Duties/Responsibilities:

  To deploy novel engineering solutions in the identification, pursuit and realisation of performance opportunities

Professional interests:

 

Applied performance analysis systems, Vehicle dynamics, Data integration

Personal interests:

 

Real-time Performance Analysis, Vehicle Dynamics, Mountain Biking, Motorsport.


Leon Williams

Position/Title:

 

Senior Technical Officer

Educational Background:

 

Electrical Engineering Certificate, Electronics and Communications Certificate

Duties/Responsibilities:

  Design, install and maintain electronic equipment for sports scientists and coaches

Professional interests:

 

Electronic circuit design, PCB design and embedded processor programing in "C"

Personal interests:

 

Amateur radio, electronics design, listening and playing music, reading and writing

  Project management, software development, data interpretation, reporting, and visualisation

Michael Williamson

Position/Title:

 

Scientific Software Developer

Educational Background:

 

Bachelor of Science (Physics and Astronomy)

Duties/Responsibilities:

 

Developing software for athletes, coaches and sport scientists which typically integrates and analyses sensor and video data

Professional interests:

  Software engineering, Parallel programming, multi-platform development, 2D and 3D visualisation and simulation, real time data asquisition

Personal interests:

 

Games development, Ultimate (flying disk)


AMS

Todd Ryall

Position/Title:

Project Manager, Athlete Management System (AMS)

Program/Area:   AIS Performance Research Centre 

Educational Background:

Bachelor Information Management/ Information Systems: Prince2 practitioner certification; Agile Scrum Master Certification, COBIT Certification; ITIL Certification

Duties/Responsibilities:

  Deliver project management services for the AIS and the broader sports network, with a focus to lead and manage the implementation relating to the AMS

Professional interests:

 

Project Management and implementation, Business intelligence and reporting; Client engagement

Personal interests:

 

Supporter of the Sydney Swans, Waratahs, Fulham (The Whites) and the local riverina town of the mighty Leeton Crows ( once long ago known as the Redlegs)

Project Officer, Athlete Management System (AMS)

Educational Background:

 

Bachelor of Commerce/ Bachelor of Economics

Duties/Responsibilities:

  AMS administration (monitoring profiles, adding/deleting profiles), report building, troubleshooting
