Emus team for Albert Schweitzer named

At the conclusion of the recent Australian U19 Men’s (Emus) Training Camp the selectors announced the following team to compete in the 24th Albert Schweitzer Tournament to be held in Mannheim, Germany

          Ryan Broekhoff           AIS / Frankston / Vic

          Matthew Dellavedova   AIS / Maryborough / Vic

          Cody Ellis                  AIS / Sterling / WA

          Hugh Greenwood        AIS / Grenadiers (Hobart) / Tas

          Shane Harris-Tunks     AIS / Liverpool / NSW

          Brock Motum             AIS / Brisbane / Qld

          Jorden Page               AIS / Maroochydore / Qld

          Dwayne Radcliffe        AIS / Breakers (Hobart) / Tas

          Christian Salecich        AIS / Southern Districts / Qld

          Jordan Vandenberg     AIS / Waverley / Vic

          Mitchell Young           AIS / Logan / Qld

Sixteeen countries have been invited to the tournament with the Emus having been drawn against Italy, Russia and Canada in their preliminary round games.

Head Coach Marty Clarke said “the team was looking forward to play in a challenging tournament against top European countries as well as teams from other zones.  This will be an excellent opportunity to compete against a variety of international styles.”

The coaching staff also commented that these tours provide the group with invaluable experience in tournament play combined with the rigors of international travel.

 Congratulations also go to Damien Theisz on his appointment to referee at the tournament.

The team will depart Australia on Saturday 15 March.

Group C:       Australia; Canada; Italy; Russia
