Basketball Drmic: "It was my night tonight"

FIBA U19 World Championships  - Post Game Interview

Following a game-high 25 point performance, Australian shooting guard Anthony Drmic is keeping his feet planted firmly on the ground.

FIBA: Congratulations on the big win tonight. You guys were making it look easy out there. What was it that was going so well for you guys?

Drmic: We just ran through our offenses well. We had three tough practice games at the Global Games in Lithuania and things are starting to look really good for us right now.

FIBA: It did not look like you were suffering too much from the loss of Mitchell Norton out there.

Drmic: We have Owen [Odigie] in now and off course we lost Norton and are missing a point guard and we were a bit short in there but Hughie is filling in there now and definitely Owen coming in has been good.

FIBA: You must obviously be happy with how your shot was going tonight?

Drmic: Any given day anyone of us could start lighting up. It was my night tonight – it might be someone else’s tomorrow.

FIBA: Tomorrow you are taking on the hosts and obviously the stadium is going to fill out. How are you going to cut out the crowd factor?

Drmic: We have our fans here too and they go all right so I think we will give Latvia a run for their money in that department.

FIBA: Latvia has one of the most promising young prospects at this tournament in Davis Bertans. What do you guys know about him?

Drmic: From the video I have seen he is a six-foot-10 shooting guard and I play that position and I am six-foot-five so it will be tough but if we play like ourselves I think we will do well.
