Boxing athletes in Darwin and the Czech Republic

The AIS/National Talent Identification and Development boxing team finished with five medals from five athletes at Darwin’s Arafura Games.
Sam Blyth (81kg), Timacoy Williams (57kg) and Dylan Perkins (48kg) finished the competition with bronze medals and Gareth Bamin (91+kg) and Sam Ah-See (69kg) both won silver medals.
In the gold medal bouts, Bamin was defeated by Alexey Mukhin (ACT) 8:4, while Ah-See lost to Rohan Murdock (QLD) in a very close and tough contest 9:8.
Northern Ireland was the standout team of the Arafura Games, taking home four gold medals.
Meanwhile, the AIS senior team competed in an Grand Prix event in Usti nad Labem, Czech Republic, last weekend. It was a very strong tournament with India and countries from all around Europe competing.
