Jason Butcher (Assistant Coach)

Jason Butcher was appointed assistant coach of the junior Australian men’s team in January 2009. He has extensive coaching experience at the state level.

He was head coach of the South Australian Institute of Sport men’s hockey program from 2007-08 as well as the Northern Territory Institute of Sport from 2003-2007.

Richard Charlesworth (Head Coach)

Ric Charlesworth is one of Australia’s greatest former hockey players and one of the world’s most experienced coaches in the game. He was appointed as national coach of the Australian Kookaburras men’s hockey team in September 2008 (four-year contract) in the lead up to the 2012 London Olympic Games.

As head coach of the Australian Hockeyroos women’s team he has achieved stunning success at the international level. He helped to coach the Australian Hockeyroos in winnning a number of world titles.

- Played 227 games for Australian Hockey team including four Olympic (five including Moscow boycott) and four World Cup tournaments. He was a gold medallist and player of the World Cup Tournament in 1986 and silver medallist at the 1976 Olympics.

Jeremy Davy (Assistant Coach)

Jeremy Davy was appointed assistant coach of the Australian women’s team in January 2009.

He has extensive experience as a match analyst for the Australian Kookaburras men’s hockey team from 2001-06. He performed a similar role for the Fremantle Football Club in Western Australia.

He is a qualified with a Bachelor of Science in Human Movement and a level three coaching accreditation.
