2008 Mother's Day Classic

Mother's Day Classic

Sunday 11 May 2008

The annual Mother's Day Classic was yet another chance for Swim and Fitness at the AIS members to get out and get active. Over 30 members joined Swim and Fitness Centre staff as they ran or walked their way around Lake Burley Griffin. The event provided members with an option to participate in a 5km run or walk or a 10km run, with proceeds from the event raising funds for those diagnosed with breast cancer.

Following the event, the dedicated team at Swim and Fitness at the AIS organised a great BBQ, which was enjoyed by all - including some AIS Swimmers who were at the event as special guests!

A notable mention needs to go to Daniel Striegl who finished the 10km run 13th overall in a time of 40 minutes and 4 seconds. Well done Daniel!

Next on the Get Out! Get Active! calendar is the 2008 City to Surf event in Sydney!
