Gold and a new world record for Rickard

Australian Institute of Sport athlete Brenton Rickard made it a golden finish winning the 100-metre men’s breaststroke final at the World Swimming Championships in Rome.

Rickard turned in fifth place at the 50-metre mark, but surged on ahead to hit the wall in first place in the world record time of 58.58 seconds.
