There are more than 40 sports involved in the National Officiating Accreditation Scheme (NOAS).  Each sport sets it's own system of official's education and accreditation, within national guidelines set by the Australian Sports Commission.  Contact the national or state sporting organisation for the sport in which you are interested in officiating for information on their education and accreditation system. Most state and regional sporting organisations conduct regular officiating accreditation courses.

NOAS training programs include the following components:

  • officiating general principles – generic principles of officiating that apply to most sports
  • sport-specific – rules, skills, and techniques of officiating in the particular sport
