Applications for the Australian Sports Commission’s 2009 National Officiating Scholarship Program are now open.

The National Officiating Scholarship Program aims to assist in the development of officials who have the potential to become national or international standard officials for their sport.  Scholarship officials will have the opportunity to work with a mentor to develop their skills in a high performance officiating environment.

National Sporting Organisations that are recognised by the Australian Sports Commission and have registered accreditation programs under the National Officiating Accreditation Scheme (NOAS) are eligible to apply for a scholarship.

The scholarships will provide officials and mentors with:

  • increased opportunities in officiating development and education
  • increased opportunities to attain a higher level of accreditation
  • improvement in competence
  • skills to officiate at the elite level.

National Sporting Organisations must submit their application form by 5pm Wednesday 17 September 2008.
