About

The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) has a focus on developing grassroots sport and aims to provide opportunities for children and young people to actively participate in a fun, safe and quality sporting environment.

The ASC works collaboratively with a number of key organisations at national, state and local community levels to achieve this outcome.

Each state and territory, through the state departments of sport and recreation are responsible for assisting the sporting industry to nurture and develop their junior sport environment. These state departments provide guidance on a broad number of aspects of junior sport depending on the needs and priorities of their state and assist sports to prepare for and respond to current issues.

Your state department or state sporting organisation for the relevant sport is the best first point of contact with junior sport issues and enquiries. To find out how to contact them, please refer to the contacts page.
