Injury prevention

It’s very frustrating to want to get onto the field or into the water, but being unable to do so because of injury. Serious injuries can mean more than a long time on the sidelines, they can also mean a lot of rehabilitation and awful pain. No one wants to go through this, so education on preventing injuries and the importance of stretching is vital for young people.

This may prove tricky at first, because many young people are busting to get out and play. Who wants to go through warm-ups and stretches? The sooner young people realise that these steps, plus proper warm downs, are part of taking care of their bodies, the smarter they become (and the less likely to have injuries).

Some sports injuries websites are listed below. Many other websites have information on sports injuries. To narrow choices when searching, look for injuries specific to your sport.
