State/Territory Departments of Sport & Recreation

The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) provides funding and services to state and territory departments of sport and recreation to further develop and sustain the Australian sport industry. In 2008-09, agreements were negotiated with seven state and territory departments of sport and recreation for the development and delivery of programs and services, and the development of national networks.

These agreements covered activities in the areas of coaching and officiating, junior sport, sport for people with a disability, organisational development, club development, harassment-free sport and women in sport.

State and territory department of sport and recreation funding is reviewed annually against the objectives and performance measures listed in the yearly agreements, as well as compliance with ASC requirements.

For further information, please visit the state and territory departments of sports and recreation websites as listed within the related links below.
