As part of Australia’s High Performance 2032+ Sport Strategy, the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) has committed to refining the HP Planning, Monitoring and Review (PMR) framework and processes.
This work is underway and will be finalised at the conclusion of the HP 2032+ Strategy Horizon 1 in December 2024.
With the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games cycle beginning after Paris 2024, all summer Olympic and Paralympic sports will review and update high performance strategies, including high-level measurable key performance indicators.
While the ASC understands and appreciates the review of the PMR process will not be finalised in time to guide these strategies, this won’t prevent sports from commencing the process.
All summer Olympic and Paralympic sports will be asked to share draft high performance plans for the LA 2028 Cycle at the 2023 Annual Check-in meetings that will occur from October until mid-December 2023. Your AIS Performance Program Consultant (PPC) will work with you to lock in the most appropriate dates.
The ASC will make resources available to assist national sporting organisations (NSOs) navigate this process. While the resources are under review as part of HP 2032+ Strategy Horizon 1 activities, they will provide a simple guide and basic outline of planning inclusions and considerations for the LA 2028 Cycle. NSOs who would like access to the resources can register via this online form or reach out to their AIS PPC.
