Play Well Leadership Group prepares for strategy implementation

The Play Well Leadership Group (PLG) recently came together in Brisbane as we worked to finalise the implementation plan for year 1 of Australia’s Sport Participation Strategy, Play Well.

It was only the second time the PLG had met in person, and it was inspiring to hear from this group and learn how their professional and personal experiences can guide us in the implementation of Play Well.

“The diverse perspectives that all group members bring will ensure the implementation of the strategy will take into consideration the needs, motivations and circumstances of all current and future participants of sport in Australia,” Founder of Multicultural Women in Sport and PLG member Molina Asthana said.

The implementation plan aims to clearly address how we will create safe, welcoming, inclusive and fun sporting experiences for all Australians by detailing clear outcomes for the Play Well Strategy for the 2024/25 financial year.

“It’s exciting to see the strategy come to life through the planned activities and implementation plan.” Manager Welcoming Clubs and PLG member Moia Tua-Davidson said.

The final implementation plan will soon be released. Thanks to the Play Well Leadership Group and our Project Squad members who have helped bring these activities to life.
