The Good Village AIS Problem Solvers Program has inspired almost 2000 primary students within its first year.

The Good Village Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) Problem Solvers Program has provided 1891 primary school students across Australia with a unique blend of sports, education and community engagement within its first year.
Launched in 2023 in partnership with Nestlé Australia, The Good Village AIS Problem Solvers Program bridges sport and education by offering primary school students the chance to learn about science, humanities, arts and economics from Australia’s top athletes.
The program is delivered by AIS athlete ambassadors, such as dual Olympians Cameron Girdlestone and Edwina Bone, who encourage outside-the-box thinking while creating a memorable and inspiring educational experience for students.
NSW primary school students Lachlan and Rose recently participated in the program and said they enjoyed the learning experience.
“We had to find one hundred uses for a paper clip without it being used as a paper clip. I felt like I learned quite a bit,” Lachlan said.
Rose said: “It’s a really fun way to learn and have new experiences in sport.
“Some kids may not know much about sport, so this might get them into it, and they might find something they love about sport.”
The Good Village AIS Problem Solvers Program includes two athlete visits and can be tailored suit individual school requirements. It is available to all primary schools across Australia and is suitable for students from grade 1 through to grade 6.
While the program is student-led, teachers are provided with free resources, including a comprehensive teaching guide to support their students throughout the program.
