I wanted to be a part of the Mental Fitness program as I am passionate about youth health which is as much mental as physical. Using my experiences throughout my 18 year journey in elite sport and sharing my learnings with the next generation I am able to give back to the community for the support I have received over my career.
I am hoping to make a difference in this space through using my lived experiences to open the door for discussion amongst students and destigmatise mental health in younger people, but to also equip them with some strategies to help others around them or themselves when times are tough. Everyone has times in their life where things don't go to plan or are having a tough time, its how you support yourself and those around you that help and solidify the community you are a part of.
