Research, Innovation and Technology
The Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) mission is to lead and enable a united high performance (HP) system that supports Australian athletes/teams to achieve podium success.
Important notice: Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) calculation error
As part of the Australian Sports Commission’s Quality Assurance activities, an issue has been identified with the equation used to calculate Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) in tests conducted at the AIS up to 1 September 2024. If AIS RMR data from prior to 1 September 2024 was used for research, we recommend that the authors review the relevant manuscripts (including statistical analysis) and take any relevant steps toward correcting the public record. For further information, including the corrected and independently validated calculation, please contact us at AISresearch@ausport.gov.au.
