Participation Growth Funding will be available from 1 July 2024 for a six-month period ahead of a transition into a broader Play Well investment fund from 1 January, 2025.

A team of Participation Advisors will support NSOs and NSODs to maximise the value and impact of this funding.

High Performance

High Performance (Win Well) investment is the annual investment to NSO/Ds, and other partners such as State Institutes and Academies of Sport, to support the ambitions and delivery of Australia’s Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth Games sports and athletes.  Allocations are aligned to Australia’s High Performance 2032+ Sport Strategy (‘the Win Well Strategy’) and considers factors such as an NSO/D’s high performance trajectory towards upcoming pinnacle events, the relative costs to run their high performance program, and the quality of their integrated high performance strategy (for Summer Olympic and Paralympic sports).

High Performance investment allocations are aligned to sports’ pinnacle event cycles. Financial Year 2024-25 straddles two Summer Olympic/Paralympic cycles, with first-half investment relating to the Paris 2024 cycle, and second-half investment relating to the LA 2028 cycle. Winter Olympic/Paralympic and Commonwealth Games-only NSO/D allocations are confirmed to 30 June 2026 and 31 December 2026 respectively, in line the Milan-Cortina 2026 and Glasgow 2026 pinnacle event cycles.
