Lydia Williams was the first Aboriginal goalkeeper for Australia’s Matildas, a five x Women’s World Cup competitor and a two x Olympian.

With 138 caps for Australia and a 19-year career, she is a renowned Australian athlete. She has played international football at the highest level in the USA for the Seattle Reign and Houston Dash; with PSG in France; Arsenal, Brighton & Hove Albion Women in the Women’s Super League. She is currently playing her last season for Melbourne Victory for the A League Women's team. Twice named PFA Women’s Footballer of the Year, she has also been inducted into the Aboriginal and Islander Sports Hall of Fame.

Lydia is the author of two children’s books, “Saved!” and “Goal!”, which are about friendship, sport and teamwork.

She also has been a part of the Professional Footballers Australia union, which saw equal pay and standards between the men and women’s national teams.
