No formal facilitation experience is required. This program is open to all, regardless of gender. This program is for:
- Coaches and officials looking to step into mentoring and development roles
- Coach and official developers who want to enhance their facilitation skills
- Sport leaders and administrators passionate about growing and supporting women and girls in sport
- Anyone eager to champion the next generation of coaches and officials
Support is available to support participants with accessibility requirements and travel to support attendance.
Key dates and details
Western Australia
A two-day in-person course covering facilitation fundamentals and coaching/officiating strategies for women and girls in community sport will be held in Perth. Over three months, participants will engage in online learning and three 1-hour workshops to deepen their skills. The program concludes with each facilitator leading a community workshop within a group of their peers with ASC support.

- Community Workshops will be delivered in June with dates to be advised to successful applicants
New South Wales

Tasmania
A two-day in-person course covering facilitation fundamentals and coaching/officiating strategies for women and girls in community sport will be held in Hobart. Over three months, participants will engage in online learning and three 1-hour workshops to deepen their skills. The program concludes with each facilitator leading a community workshop within a group of their peers with ASC support.

Application Evaluation
All applications will first be assessed against the eligibility criteria and then all eligible applications will be evaluated by an internal assessment panel at the Australian Sports Commission.
Evaluation criteria- Relevant experience
- Coaching or officiating experience, or a combination of coaching or officiating experience with other relevant experience
- Readiness to facilitate
- Demonstrates readiness to commence (or continue) facilitating either during the program period (preferred) or after the program
- Relevance and motivation
- Clearly articulates why they are intrinsically motivated to take part in the program
- Clearly articulates a vision for positive impact at their club or organisation
